The Farmhouse of Plainfield is a unique wedding venue situated on 4 acres near the DuPage River. The original limestone house was built in 1850, with additional buildings added in subsequent years.

​Many of our guests—including couples who have been married on the property—call it magical. We believe you will, too!

​You’ll be dazzled by extensive gardens with an abundance of colorful flowers, cascading water features, 7 fireplaces, patio string lights that add a special glow throughout the night, and beautifully restored limestone and brick buildings steeped in history.

​A wedding at The Farmhouse is an extra special affair.

We have our grand event space for those who prefer to be indoors, and the patio is the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. Minimal decorations are needed thanks to magnificent landscaping and an abundance of beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs.

"April Showers bring May flowers" rings true here at the Farmhouse. As we move into Spring, weddings at the Farmhouse will start to see much more green and blooms. With up to three outdoor ceremony locations, couples can start using the outdoor spaces as early as March. The spring can offer the best of both worlds by giving you the chance for warmer days and cooler nights.

Gorgeous weather means gorgeous photos, especially here at the Farmhouse. The landscaping and many outdoor wooden structures makes for the perfect backdrop. Outdoor ceremonies lead to an outdoor cocktail hour with 10,000 sq feet for guests to explore. Summer is the high wedding season for a reason, it's a perfect time to celebrate love.

Great weather, breathtaking scenery, and fall colors will make your fall wedding one to remember at the Farmhouse. As most couples are still using the outdoor ceremony locations, there is much flexibility for an indoor ceremony at this time. With 7 outdoor firepits, they make for the perfect spot to warm up or an after dinner s'mores station!

A winter wedding at the Farmhouse has so much to offer. Not only is the indoor venue decorated with winter decor, including up to 16 Christmas trees, we also have 125,000 white outdoor Christmas lights and many snowy photo ops. There are also many outdoor heated buildings to accommodate guests when exploring our patios. A winter wedding at the Farmhouse is something out of the ordinary.

​We just love the winter holidays and not one spot is left untouched outside with our dreamy white holiday lights in their splendor from November through January.  The inside is also decked out in Winter decor pleasing all who walk through to enjoy!
